Coursy Hosts Insightful Community Day at BTA Office in Riga, Latvia

In August 2024, Coursy held an engaging Community Day at the BTA office in Riga, Latvia. The event, which was initiated by our Customer Success Expert Liis Laugasson, brought together participants from all three Baltic countries, with presenters from Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. This hybrid event allowed both on-site and online attendees to engage in valuable discussions around software implementation, change management, and e-learning content creation.
Liis played a key role in ensuring the event was focused on addressing the real needs of our users, fostering meaningful connections, and sharing best practices across industries.

BTA’s Story of Coursy Implementation
The event started with Ildze Pravorne, BTA’s Learning and Development Specialist, sharing the inspiring journey of how BTA successfully implemented Coursy’s learning management system (LMS). Ildze outlined the challenges they faced in modernizing their training processes and how Coursy helped to streamline e-learning efforts for BTA’s employees. Her presentation highlighted the practical benefits of using Coursy, offering valuable insights for companies looking to enhance their internal training programs.
Expert Insights on Change Management and Software Implementation

The highlight of the day was the keynote speech from Erja Klemola, a respected Change Management Expert. In her presentation, Erja shared best practices for software implementation in organizations and answered a critical question: “How to drive a systemic change program with transformational impact?” She emphasized that when organizations shift their focus beyond just software or people to consider the overall impact on the business, they see more significant and lasting change. Her session offered participants concrete strategies for implementing change that aligns technology with organizational goals, making it both effective and sustainable.
Panel Discussion on E-Learning Content Creation

After Erja’s keynote, a thought-provoking panel discussion took place, featuring Ildze Pravorne from BTA, Sandra Aria from Eesti Energia, and Anne Räsu from East Tallinn Central Hospital. The discussion focused on the opportunities and challenges of using subject matter experts (SMEs) to create high-quality e-learning content. The panelists explored how SMEs can contribute to building engaging, accurate, and practical e-learning materials and how organizations can better utilize their expertise to improve learning outcomes. The conversation provided a wealth of actionable insights for organizations seeking to leverage internal experts for content development.
Introduction of New Coursy Features and Future Plans
The day was curated by Coursy CEO Agu Remmelg, who not only moderated the discussions but also took the opportunity to introduce new features in the Coursy LMS platform. Agu shared some exciting updates that will further enhance the user experience, including improved tools for creating, managing, and tracking e-learning content. He also touched on Coursy’s future plans, offering a glimpse into the innovative developments the team is working on to keep pushing the boundaries of e-learning.
A Partnership with SmartHR
The event was made possible thanks to the cooperation of SmartHR, a valued partner that contributed to the smooth running of the day. SmartHR’s expertise played a significant role in facilitating the hybrid format of the event, ensuring both in-person and online participants could engage meaningfully.
